Challenge #33 New tangle Pendrills

The challenge this week from Laura Harms, I am the diva, was to use the new tangle, Pendrills, from Rick and Maria, co-founders of Zentangle.  The tangle was inspired by grapevines.  In one of my drawings, I added little barbs and the rendition looked more like barbed wire than grapevines.   I didn't take a photo.  These don't look much like grapevines either, maybe a little more like pvc pipe and fittings.  Here's my entry:

I haven't done much sewing, quilting or drawing over the past few days.  I just bought a seasonal camp and have been working on that.  At the end of the day, all I want to do is collapse.  Here's the photo from the outside.

It needs a little work.  The camp is 20 miles from my house and I've been traveling back and forth over the past few days in the hopes of having it ready to stay over sometime in the next week or so.

Hope you have a good day.

Very cool drawing, even if it didn't come out as you expected.

What is a seasonal camp? It looks like a very snug place.

Pat, I actually love your rendition of pendrills, but if you look want it to look more organic, try having the stem break off into two "vines" at EACH knot. This gives you a lot of options for filling a space, and "growing" in many directions. This is actually a technique used in "white vine" patterning from the middle ages used in Illuminated letters. There is a lot of information on the web about this old technique. Best, Maria

What a great little camp! I'd love to have a weekend getaway. How fun to fix it up.
