One Flower Wednesday

I brought my kit to make a hex flower with me yesterday when I babysat my granddaughter.  At least I thought I had the whole kit.  The actual kit is up at the camp so I had to put together enough to make one flower.  When I pulled my kit out I realized that I didn't have scissors or blue thread.  Fortunately I was able to use my son's scissors.  But as you can see, I went ahead and sewed the flower with white.

I really don't mind that the thread shows.  To see other flowers in One Flower Wednesday, visit Journey of a Quilter.

Update on my 'cropping' problem.  For whatever reason, if I modify the photo at all using Windows Live Photo Gallery, the modified version is saved as a hidden file.  For now, I'm just going in and removing the hidden file attribute.  I've used Windows Live Photo Gallery for well over a year and never had this problem.  I can't for the life of me figure out why.  For now, this is an acceptable solution although it's going to nag at me until I find out why and fix the problem.

Hope you have a good day.

Beautiful flower! I love the fussy cut center. And I bet when you get that flower sewn together with others you won't even notice that you sewed it together with white thread.

Don't think I would have noticed the white had you not mentioned it , it is a very pretty blue flower and I love the daisy center :-)

You know you can go in with a blue Sharpie and touch up those white threads and they won't show!

I like the daisy in the middle. I did not notice white thread at all. Actually, I still can't see it. I think it is pretty.

I love the way your flower came together and the way you "made do" with whatever you had on hand to sew it. Lovely.

Very pretty! Once the garden is all together, you will not notice the white thread.

Your flower looks great and the daisy centre is cute. I only use a neutral thread for all my flowers.Never match the thread.

Love the blue, so vibrant, and the centre sets it off so nicely.

A lovely happy flower - the daisy centre is very cute. I have used a medium grey (fine thread) for all my hexies and only got a bit of thread showing on a dark chocolate brown flower; I don't think your white thread will show once you have them all joined up.
