So slow....

I cut out the pieces for the Basket of Tulips block and tried to lay them out but my 'design board' isn't quite wide enough.  The pattern and directions were somewhat complex so I just started sewing one little piece at a time.  It was very slow going.  About halfway through I wondered why I had so many pieces left over.  I discovered that the cutting directions were for two blocks.  I hate it when that happens.  I don't really want two blocks alike.  I don't want to spend time on a block that doesn't count towards the '501'.  But the pieces were already cut.  So...three hours later...two blocks - 54 pieces each.  Phew!

Basket of Tulips

Actually the second one went much faster using the completed block as a guide.  I really do need to create a wider design board.  I like to lay the blocks out ahead of time as much for making sure I have all the pieces as to understand the piecing directions.

Hope you have a good day.

You do a wonderful job. I like it so much.

Looks like a very complex block. They look so square and even. When I make a block with that many peices it doesn't usually look so pretty when I'm done, well not until after I trim it up! These 2 are very pretty!
