Free Motion Quilting

Anyone who knows me well, knows that I hate commitment.  But when I saw the Free-Motion Quilting Challenge hosted by SewCalGal, I waivered....then....I signed up.  I couldn't help myself.

My original intention was to follow along anyway but then I found out there are prizes involved for those who sign up.  What can I say?  I like free stuff.

The first tutorial is by Frances Moore and can be found here.

I did a small practice piece approx. 10 x 10 inches and was reasonably happy with the result so I quilted the project I'm working on with the heart shaped leaf pattern.  I can't show the project just yet because it's a gift but I can show you the quilting from the back side.

I really enjoyed quilting this design.  It's sure to be a favorite.  Give it a try.  You might like it too.

Hope you had a good day.

After seeing yours on black, I had to go back and do mine on red. I liked the outcome much better.

I had to sign up with SewCalGal, too! I have to admit that the leaves pattern has come to be a favorite of mine, too. There are many variations to keep it interesting, too, like swirls inside the leaves, hearts, etc.
