Taking a little break

Not from blogging.  Obviously.  Just a little break from quilting...  I've been practicing quilting the heart-shaped leaves demonstrated in the tutorial by Frances Moore as presented over on SewCalGal's blog for the FMQ Challenge.  Earlier in the week, I tried it for the first time and found it pretty easy but I was only working on two 12 inch square pieces.  Today, I'm working on two 22 inch square pieces.  I got tired about half way through the first one and probably should have stopped.  Working on a larger piece was a little more tedious.  And my thread kept getting buggered up on the back.  I thought it might be the basting spray.  I've only used it on hand embroidery pieces before but after I changed the needle, things went much better.  In the photo, it really is quilted to the edges.  The front side is about 2 inches less wide on all sides.  I like the way the sunlight catches the quilting in the photo.

I have one more 22 inch square piece I want to do today but as I said, I'm taking a little break.

I also finished another zentangle piece.

Hope you're having a good day.

Your leaves are AWESOME! I like the way the shadows really accent the puff! And I love your zentangle as well!

No need to do another square, Pat. You've made a fabulous one already.
