My First Artist Trading Card

The theme for this month's ATC Swap as hosted by Lisa Liza Lou Designs is 'Bucket List'.  As I mentioned the other day, I haven't gotten around to writing a new bucket list.  But I still have 'Visit Australia' on my old list so that's what I used for this first ATC.  The colors of the Australian flag are red, white and blue.  So I've embroidered a Merino sheep on a blue background with a knitted piece in red.  You wouldn't believe how many french knots it took to fill up the sheep's head.  Even though ATCs are only 2.5 x 3.5 inches, it still took quite a few knots.  I spent a large portion of Sunday afternoon on it.  Anyway, here it is - my first ATC:

Did you know that Australia has 85.7 million sheep, mostly Merino?  I've always loved sheep.  I suppose that's the major reason I've wanted to go there.  For kicks, every now and then I check on airfare & accommodations and attractions to see, but the reality is I don't know if I'll ever plop down the money for such a trip.  It is fun to dream though.

Hope you had a good day.

Oh, Pat,
this looks so great. I love it.
I never did an ATC but I like to see them so much.
