The Day Has Come

I've finished all the blocks in the book 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks by Judy Hopkins.  And way, way before I thought I would.  At the beginning of the year, I figured that at the rate I was going, I wouldn't finish until 2014.  But I've really pushed lately and today, I completed the 501 Project.  Yay me!

How did I celebrate?  I ate cake.  Actually, I baked the cake yesterday, in anticipation of the finish and of course I had to test it, so I should say that I ate more cake.  I also changed the header and background of my blog.

Here are the final blocks:

T Square

Temple Court

Toad in a Puzzle

Washington Pavement

Waves of the Sea

The X

To further celebrate, I'm having a giveaway.  And what better way to finish with the 501 quilt blocks than to give away some of those blocks.  The blocks finish at 12 or 12.5 inches depending on the directions for that block.  I'm offering two groups of 7 blocks each.

Group 1:  Brown/Tan

Group 2:  Yellow Orange/Purple

You should be able to click on them to get a close up.  Just leave a comment telling me which group you'd like if you win and I'll try to accommodate.  I'll be drawing the winner on Nov. 6.

Hope you have a good day.

Congratulations Pat! What a big accomplishment. Can't wait to see how you put them together and see how many quilts you get? I think that I could figure out something to do with the yellow orange/purple blocks. Thanks for sharing this adventure with all of us.

I am so impressed! Congratulations! Have you gotten to the "Now what?" yet?
And I like the purple ones please!

Congratulations Pat. What a great undertaking - and to finish early - give yourself a huge "pat on the back". Looking forward to seeing what you have for us next...

congratulations! What an accomplishment! Way to go!! I like both sets of blocks -- if I win, I'd go with the purple/yellow/orange ones or the brown / tan ones. they are both great!

WOW, Congratulations on completing all the blocks in the book. That is a monumental accomplishment. I love both of the color combinations that you show but if I were to be the lucky winner I would like the Yellow/Orange/Purple blocks.
