Bailey is home

I brought Bailey home yesterday and he never let out a peep during the 1.5 hr trip home.  When we got home, he settled right in.  He ate well and did his business in the right spot.  I was surprised that he was so good at playing fetch.  He brings the toy right back.  Sometimes he's better at dropping it than others but he's only 2 months old and considering he doesn't really know me yet, he did quite well.  At bedtime I tried to have him sleep in his kennel or car carrier.  He was not happy.  He whined and howled.  I let him fuss for awhile but I was afraid he would disturb the neighbors.  He's not really kennel trained yet.  I tried to sleep with him on the couch but he wouldn't settle down and my bed is way too high.  I had to lay down with him on the kitchen floor until he fell asleep then I snuck off to sleep in bed.  I had to get up with him once during the night but I was pleased with how the night went.   All in all, I think we're off to a good start.

On Weds. I was able to sandwich my grandson's quilt.  As usual, I did it in sections because I don't have an area large enough to lay it all out.  Here's what one of the sections looks like.  I hope to start quilting it over the weekend but for now, I have to remember to sleep when the 'baby' sleeps so we'll see.

Hope you have a good day.

He is so cute! Your story sounds a lot like my daughter and son-in-law and their new puppy. My son-in-law actually set up an air mattress next to the dog crate so the dog wouldn't whine all night. Then they moved her into the bedroom. Daughter says the dog will never be in bed with them, but I think it's only a matter of time. lol
