You know I'm crazy, don't you?

Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook cover

I've got it in my mind that I need another long term project.  Recently I purchased The Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook by Deborah Robson & Carol Ekarius.  The book documents over 200 fibers from Animal to Spun Yarn.  It's an amazing resource.

And.....I want to spin every fiber in it.

Crazy huh?

I don't think it is a crazy idea at all. I'm fascinated with different fibers. When we lived in Alaska, I got a quiviut scarf--made from musk ox wool. It is so light and yet so warm. Most of the projects made from musk ox are left the natural shade of brown--it is so pretty. The native women go out onto the tundra in the spring and gather the tufts of hair that are shed, and then they are spun into yarn and they knit scarves, hats, etc. to sell for extra money since they live a subsitence lifestyle.

I don't think you are crazy at all. I too purchased that book and have spent many hours reading about rare breed sheep and dreaming of owning a few of each breed.
