How about this soil?

The garden plot I was assigned this year is not the best.  Next year I think I'll ask for one at the other end, away from where snow, salt and sand are plowed up all winter.  However I want you to notice that even though the 'soil' leaves something to be desired, I had the first ripe tomato out of all the plots.........and it tasted great.

1st tomato 2014

Hope you have a good day.

First tomato of the season always requires a celebration. Congrats.

My Mom always told me it was about 80% gardener and 30% other stuff. In spite of the challenging environment it looks yummy.

Very nice! Hope you have a productive garden in spite of the soil.

That's about the prettiest tomato I've seen! Nothing tastes better than that first one.

How has your plot done the rest of the season? Your tomato plant looks healthy in spite of the poor soil. Is this a neighborhood garden or something else?
