Actually, I'm not talking about 'real' houses. I'm talking about paper-pieced houses. I want to make a houses quilt although I'm not sure of a design. I have Carol Doak's 300 Paper-Pieced Quilt Blocks and it has a number of house blocks. I've seen quite a few fun house blocks in the quilting world and I'd love to go wild and use some fun colors/fabrics for my houses. I'm not there yet. These are pretty much 'normal' houses (and a tree).
Speaking of houses, when I moved into my two bedroom apartment about a year and a half ago, the kitchen floor, though no-wax, was dull, dull, dull with no shine. So in spite of all I'd read, I waxed the floor (a number of times). Unfortunately, the floor yellowed pretty badly. I don't think anyone else would have noticed but I did. So three weeks ago, I started stripping the wax. Ammonia, full strength for 15 minutes, 92 'tile patterns' in three different sessions. I finished today....yay! I'm so happy to have my dull, no shine floor. So let that be a lesson to me!
Hope you enjoy your weekend!
Luke 6:49 'But the one who hears my words and does not put them into practice is like a man who built a house on the ground without a foundation. The moment the torrent struck that house, it collapsed and its destruction was complete.' (NIV)
