Bittersweet memories

I've just finished reading all my blog posts from the beginning. I was amazed at how much I'd forgotten. And all the wonderfully kind and encouraging comments left for me. There are so many quilts I've given away.....some I wish I still had. If I feel as though I place too much value on a 'thing', I give it away. Or there are times when a person will 'wish' a quilt was theirs and I give it to them. While I'm not sorry I gave them away, they are bittersweet memories. I've reminded myself that I can always make another quilt.

As I was reading my posts, I realized that I finished the sweater I referred to here.

And the sweater for Little Girl mentioned in that same post.

I've only worn mine a few times because it's too warm. And I don't think Little Girl has worn hers much because she's more into novelty sweatshirts now. Needless to say, I haven't knit any sweaters since. But I was happy with how they turned out. Most of all, I enjoyed the challenge.

I received an email yesterday that my fabric order from Connecting Threads has shipped. I can't remember exactly what fabrics I ordered ( I could look it up) but from the color descriptions, they're fall colors. Imagine that...me choosing fall colors!

I've been basting more hexie petals and thumbing through my 501 Rotary-Cut Quilt Blocks book as I wait (patiently?) for my 1000 Quilt Blocks book to arrive.

I hope you're enjoying your weekend.

If I had the skill to create those two beautiful projects, I sure would want to post the photos so they can be admired. They are truly lovely. :-)
